Restraints (yamas and niyamas)

In a Zoom meeting with Ernesto and Carlos of ‘Yo Soy Tu Mismo’ (a group of Spanish devotees of Bhagavan Sri Ramana) on 10th November 2021, Michael James answers the questions:

“What role should the Yamas and Niyamas play in someone who has a good intellectual understanding of Bhagavan’s Teachings but who has not developed a fairly balanced self and who has all kinds of emotional disorders, lack of discernment which is reflected in his life in all kinds of lack of congruence between feeling, thinking and acting?”

While answering these questions Michael also discusses the meaning and implications of various other passages from Bhagavan’s writings, including Upadēśa Undiyār.
